My Ride: 2004 bmw 530 black on black blacked out headlights and tail lights
Default

i was hearing the squeaking sound from the rear

so i remove the seat, to put some foam in the rear parcel shelf

after i finished everything i put everything back,

i just have one problem now

the back part of the seat dont seem to wanna lock back in,

when i release the two catches on the underside of the parcel shelf nearest the seat-back by inserting a pointed screwdriver into the recess and pushing it

a small spring came out, i dont know if that springs need to go somewhere for the seat to lock

so anyone here now how i can fix this,

i pushed hard as i can many times to lock but it just not happening,

so i need help.

Hi there,
I can't figure out how to take the rear seat back rest out. Can you provide instructions and how to reassemble?

Many thanks!

It will not lock back in unless the spring is put back into the latch. You might have to remove the access panels in front of the latch to see where to put the spring back.
