Hi,

I recently read a thread where someone pointed out how to fix the seat belt clip noise (not Idrive warning if you dont buckle) while driving.. its very annoying.

If i hold the clip, i donot get any noise.

Anyone remember the post which discussed this.. i am pretty sure i read about this same problem few days back on this forum

Wrap seat belt buckle with some fabric material. The cause was hard plastic rubs against leather, and cause some irritated creaking noise.

Is it something loose inside the clip thing? or is it rubbing like my530i says... if its rubbing then I would say get some leather cleaner and just wipe and clean around the area where the clip may potentially touch. That way it will moisten and smooth out the plastic / leather / vinyl around the belt area.

I get this too. With the radio/cd on I don't hear too much of it. It is just the hard surfaces rubbing against each other. Maybe you can stick a piece of the felt like material like those you use for furniture to prevent it from scratching the floor on one of the rubbing surface. Not sure if this will completely solve the problem though.

+1, I was thinking of the same sort of solution.

I had exactly the same problem on my '07. At first, I heard it mostly when stopping or starting and then I began to hear it during normal driving. The noise went away when I held the clip while the seat belt was closed.

I took it to my dealer and he replaced the seat belt male and female connections and the problem went away. They never said anything about trying to put felt or anything else on it.
