hahahhaha

Why not buy a remote control helicopter with a camera attached to it and send the camera-helicopter ahead of the car... not sure if the remote controlled helicopters can travel at highway driving speeds.

Seriously, I wanted to have the remote controlled helicopter with the camera for using during traffic backup due to accident/inclement weather. You want to see what's causing the backup without leaving the car.

Great minds think alike! This does rather seem like a post more likely on April 1st though!

I like this idea, for couple more bucks, it could built GPS system with flight computer , that will flying ahead of you and on same highway. It's a good excise for MIT guys. You don't need remote control. Only thing I'm afraid, Air Force and Home land security will not like it.

Yes they can. It's actually one of my hobbies. One of my helis has been clocked at 74mph using a GPS so it's a flat speed, and not on a dive. That one is built only for sport flying. There are others that are actually built for "drag" racing which can go much faster.

Ha ha...actually one of my projects with a First Person View (FPV) wireless camera so you can have it fly about 1 mile ahead of you and see what it's camera sees on a small monitor on your dash...Actually gives me an idea to use the iDrive screen for that. LOL! Oh...and it's the FAA you would really have to worry about.

don't agree with the poster about lasik/glasses, no 20/20 vision will outdo an average 8x or more binocular magnification. Also, he's never hiding perfectly at the bottom of the bridge that holds the overpassing road, or at the turn-around, and the road is usually either curved, or elevated, or both, so with binoculars, you can see him. agree on the great possibility of the Darwinism award, this dangerous task is only for the strong and competent, and is done for a split second when you spot a possible speed trap ahead, noone is advocating driving with binoculars on the whole time

You guys funny! Someone might have designed a social network warning system already. If only there are enough subscribers to make it work. Still a novelty I think without enough adoption to be effective. Has the potential to be a powerful alert system http://www.escortradar.com/escort-live/
