In the eyes of our truly dumb president global warming does not exist. Hopefully the new democratic congress and senate will change course.
Sure they will. Right after they bleed us dry in taxes.

Press Office , BMW nurnberg

same person that told me (and i told e60 in turn) that the 335i would have 300bhp, same person that confirmed facelift of X3 six months before anyone even talked about it ... etc

Well so far there are dozens of such indicators.

Good luck with your source.

I don't think there is.

Additionally it's those who have smog problems that are NOX obsessive.

...
Maybe you misunderstood me. I am not saying that Diesels cannot be made as "clean" as Petrols - I am not an expert but I assume they can; and the document you referenced proves that from what I understand. However, current engines sold in Europe seem to be much worse than what's possible in theory - models to be sold in the U.S. might be a different story. Just compare the emssions allowed for current Euro4 cars for differences between petrol and diesels...

Still, I have read that comprehensive Diesel exhaust aftertreatment will make the cars so much more expensive that they will not be feasibile economically anymore. Seems like petrol or petrol hybrid might be a better idea.

Abc, this just proves that if you focus on NOx, than Diesel is much worse. If you focus on CO or CO2 than Diesel is slightly better. Go figrue. I read somewhere that nowadays, a cow emmits more CO2 than a new car.

Have a guess on which gas the Kyoto protocol is focussing on for GLOBAL impact. Hmmmm.... CO2!!!!

Also show me a cow that produces 250g/km of CO2.

Now methane - that's a different story.

What is clear from the table above is that all is unclear.
