While reading J. Spira's fine article on iDrive, I noticed that he stated that the SatNav directional arrow popup was now functional in the latest progman version. But in my LCI, it still doesn't work. I had thought that BMW disabled the function in HUD-equipped cars, but my car does have the option to turn the pop-up on or off in the iDrive settings menu.

Does anyone out there have HUD and a functioning arrow popup?

Jonathan is correct, turn function on, HUD off and you get pop-up.

Yup, thanks guys. That was it. HUD on, popup off. HUD off, popup on.

On a side note, it's amazing how blind I feel using nav without HUD. I know that if you never had HUD, you wouldn't miss it. But once you've got nav and HUD, you'll never be able to live without the two together.

By pop-up arrow, do you mean the small arrow in the corner of the screen that gives the general direction of the destination? Thanks.

Pop-up arrow is the arrow in the assist window (or HUD in cars equipped thusly) that pops up when the satnav speaks.

I always run with the HUD on and Nav directions in it. I put the map in the assist window. Do I assume correctly that the LCI 550 still does the same?
