Hi, i am hoping someone can help me, Two weeks ago i picked up my 530d Touring,(54 plate) the salesman said that the sat-nav DVD was in the glove box, (Its the professional Sat-nav) but when i got home the box was empty?? I called them and they said they would send me a replacement, they then explained they had left the DVD in the glove box, and they think people looking at the cars had stolen it from the car. While i waited i tried a copy my friend had and it didn't register the DVD it just said "Please inset the navigation Disc"i then tried a normal DVD and it still didnt register it. (I am assuming it should have) would this indicate the drive is broken, i still havent recieved the disc and am now thiking they knew about it, although in the advert they had a picture of the sat-nav screen with a map on it, although it could have been any screen not necessarily the one in my car. Does the evidence indicate its broken or Is there anything else i can do the definitely confirm its broken.

The drive is likely not broken, it doesn't read regular DVDs. Quit waiting just get one from ebay.

 

+1^ also if they had it advertised as you mentioned well they should give it to you or fix the issue if any.

 

Ah i was under the impression the professional Sat Nav played DVD's i have an option for it in the entertainment section on the i drive, and the TV function, I have tried a copy from ebay and i doesn't work, i just get the "please insert navigation disc" message.

 

If you're wanting to just test the drive, it should also play a music cd.

 

I will try the CD. I have had an email from them saying they have posted the disc so we will see when it gets here, they also said if there is a problem i need to take the car back to them, so it looks like i may be taking a trip back to Milton Keynes.
