I think there are a few folks from our area including Richard In NC. I think a meet & drive would be a lot of fun, but where would you go? Charlotte doesn't really have any good roads to drive on. You'd just about about have to go to Boone to get the kind of driving that the California people on this board talk about. Question for you, who are you using for service work & are you happy with the service dept? I'm trying to decide where to go as Flow, Crown, Hendrick and Hendrick in Hickory are all about the same distance for me. Input appreciated!
If I go out for a little drive and want to stay sort of close to home, I usually end up heading out your way on the back roads. If I'm craving twisties, I head out for Grandfather Mtn.

I believe Richard in NC is out in Greensboro or that area. I always go back to the dealer for service; Hendrick BMW here in Charlotte.

Hendrick BMW in Charlotte has provided great service for me (although it's all been under BMW maintenance & warranty). When I start getting the bills, I'll be looking for a good independant.

I'm out of warranty so we found an independent using www.bimrs.org. The guy in Huntersville is evidently out of business so we're trying the guy in Winston Salem. He's going to mount the tires, do the alignment and check the power steering fluid. Hopefully that's the reason the Idrive said Active Steer was malfunctioning. I know Winston is not super close to Charlotte, but if this guy is good you may want to file it away for future reference. I'll let you know how it turns out.
Regards,
Brandy

Have you followed the highway that goes from Blowing Rock to Linville and then Spruce Pine? That's a nice twisty road, but I can't remember the #. Hwy 19 maybe?

Yes, I have. If it's the road I think you're talking about, a person could actually get motion sickness! That road is too twisty. You're talking about the little country road through the trees that gets really narrow and has a few neighborhoods tucked away along the way?

Yeah, that's the one, and just outside of Blowing Rock it has this really great log home on the left with a bright green lockseam roof...you're right - it is pretty twisty!

Get the new F1 Asymmetric, better than PS2 in every aspect. ...It'll be my next set soon
