I checked the spec in my car today and it said front 2,4 bar and rear 2,7 bar f?r 245/40-18
Could the difference between recommended tyre pressures have something to do with the fact that you drive a saloon (E60) while my car is the Touring-version (E61) ?

Anyhow, I plan to try an intermediate tyre pressure on my next stop to check the tyre pressure (2,2 F / 2,6 R) just to see what this does to the handling, fuel consumption etc.

Thanks for your feedback! (are you enjoying your new car ?)

Greetz,
Tom.

Your dealer is jerking you around !!!!!! Many on this forum as well as on bimmerfest have had their tires changed before 20,000 miles FREE by the dealer because of noise or noise and wear problems. I had mine changed at 15,000 + miles for noise problems by JMK BMW without any problems. As I said before your dealer is jerking you around.
Do a search on the subject, SEARCH IS YOUR FRIEND. Good luck on your out come
cheers

Called dunlop today same story, unless they can prove a misalignment they will not replace the tires.

rayray06, have you actually seen a copy of the bulletin?

Print this out and take it to the BMW dealer:

Reference the bulletin to the dealer and BMWNA even provided bulletin number, then i obtained and faxed a copy to dunlop. As previously stated dealer wants me to purchase new tires and suggest i call dunlop. BMWNA refute the issue saying "if there was such a bulletin it only refers to MY05."

At this point, I wouldn't waste your time talking to Dunlop. Can you find another dealer who is more knowledgeable and/or familiar with this bulletin? I'm fairly surprised that BMWNA would act as if there's no bulletin or try to dispute the fact that the bulletin clearly states that it applies to "E60 (5 Series) equipped with Dunlop SP Sport 01 DSST Run Flat Tires".

My dealer is so familiar with this bulletin that they've replaced a ton of tires (a quarter ton of them were just for my 2004 model car! )

This is total BS. It would be different if they examined the tires and determined that the bulletin didn't apply based on wear patterns, etc. but to act as if the bulletin doesn't exist or act as if it's only for 2005 cars (when it's clearly not) is just unbelievable to me -- and I've seen some pretty unbelievable dealer/BMWNA stories!
