i need help mighty experts... so i have a 2004 BMW E60 most likely with FTM. I have run flats if I replace them with non-run flats it's fine right? there's no sensors in my tire? i just have to reset via idrive. has anyone replaced run flats with non run flats.. everything ok?
My dealer indicated that with non RF tires the FTM will go off from time to time because of the softer compound on non-RF.

Many have made the switch, no problems. With FTM, no sensors to install, just reset the system once the new tires are on. And despite what 530_nz says, I have not heard on anyone reporting sporadic FTM warnings after switching to non-runflats. Sounds like the typical uninformed BS so many dealers give out.

On the 2007 US Spec E60 there are sensors to install. If you didn't install the metal valve sensors then the only way to turn off the alarm is to replace the standard valve stems with FTM (TPMS) sensors. The runflats or non-runflats should have nothing to do with the alarm going off. Once the sensors are installed, set the correct pressure on all four tires and then reset the alarm and calibrate it as instructed in the manual.
