SOME e60's have a spare tire - I believe it was an "option" when the car was equipped with RFTs! Best to check or have a back-up strategy!

I purchased some used OEM BMW rims with run flat tires on it. Potenza RE050A to be exact.

My stock tires are 17 inch rim with non run flat tires.

So my question is it a good idea to switch out new purchased rims to non run flat tires? My concern is I'm guessing my car probably does have a run flat sensors on it and I am afraid that if it does go flat, I wouldn't know it's been punctured and it could put myself/passengers in danger.

Any thoughts?

The rims I purchased are Staggered BMW style 124 picture reference attached.
Here's my opinion...if the tires are in good shape with good tread there is no reason to get rid of them, Yes, run flats are harsher and make more noise. But, it isn't such a big deal that would cause me to throw away the better part of $1,000 if the tires are in fine shape. The other thing about run flats is they do work and that is an advantage for someone who isn't about to change a tire in a pinch or drives through a bad section of town often where getting stranded would be a problem.
