removing the secondary cat or the resonator will typically result in a deeper/louder sound. youd have to go to a local muffler shop to have it cut off and have piping to be made and welded in place if you were to delete the secondary cat or resonator.

You won't lose power by removing the resonator if anything it'll have more flow.

It's a fact that back pressure can help create torque. And there are others on here that have lost torque by making the exhaust flow too freely.

You are in California, which has these strictest emissions requirements and testing in the US, so why would you even consider removing a 'cat' for a mere 5hp (estimated) gain? Also what you have is a 'cat back' exhaust not a 'axle back' exhaust. You have a great car so why would you want to "rice it up", sit back and enjoy the ride.

who cares what the emissions are in the california a lot of 535i' ,335i's etc so on have catless downpipes. its like saying you can't have tints in the front doesn't mean people don't do it and i don't see how I'm ricing out a lot of e60 m5's have secondary cat delete with eisenmann exhaust and if you don't know secondary cats are not illegal to remove only the primary one in the front do your research then talk
