It never fails to amaze me how many ways the "factory trained technicians" can screw things up. See my seperate thread regarding my run in with them when they put the wrong oil filter into my 550 (the filter on a 550 IS different from a 545).
The car tech has improven, or at least changed a lot, since the '50's -'70's Detroit times.

It needs a highly educated and motivated service "enigineer" nowadays to manage the job.
But also should these service pros have a vast motoring, both mechanical and now also electronical, experiense.

In a other post, I told you guys, about my AC problem which only needed a $10 regulator part to fix the problem.
OK, they changed the part but also the fan, but they did forget to program the car after the change...

So now then, these very minor problems (gaskets, parts and programming!), suddently seems very large and miraculous
ones.

We, as customers, need to be firm and demanding perfect BMW Service at all time

You are correct that the build date on the car is 2005 which would make more sense for the need of a brake flush. Over pressurizing the sytem would also make sense. I just have a hard time believing that the Master Cylinder failed because it wore out after 15k miles. Most likely a lazy technician (Crackers on my floor, Grease on the seat and floor mats) did something wrong.

The most frustrating thing is that they sent me out on the road multiple times with brakes that were failing. I would have much rather them have taken the time and properly diagnose the issue when I brought the car back the first time. Especially when it comes to brakes.

As long as it is fixed this time I'm happy enough. Like I said everyone is very nice, although I think the rental car is starting to get to me.

I had my 2 year brake fluid flush one year ago, and now that you mention it, I noticed from day one that the the "brake feel" only found in a BMW, was softer, not nearly as firm. I've lived with it, but the feel really hasn't been the same since the flush.
