Hello can someone help me i have a 2006 e60 I live in mexico and i barely reached the 16000 km mark and the computer puts the servise notification on the screen for the oil change, the dealer in mexico only gives you a 2 year warranty wich has expired and sor a simple oil change they are charging me 500USD wich i believe is total robery from the dealers, so i opted to do the oil change myself but now how do i reset the computer i own a harley and to reset the computer you just press a certain amount of times the button for the KM.
How do you reset it on the e60.

I've never tried it myself but I dont think it will reset the oil change indicator... but you can try it... see if you can find somthing in there.

Or maybe someone else can chime in.

 

Press the milage reset button in the instument cluster about 10 seconds with the key to on position, until "service" appears, then change selection with a sigle push
until "engine oil" appears. Keep pushing the "reset " ask yes? and that's all. Next oil change after 15000 mi appears on the idrive "service"menu.
Beware, not to reset another function, there is no way to restore a reseted item.
