Obviously something didn't get reconnected properly after removing the CD changer. Hopefully someone who's played around with this kind of stuff will help you out...

You can't just remove the CDC!
The MOST bus is a fibre optic network that relies on two way communications, one fibre for out and one for return. If you have just disconnected the CDC you have broken the circuit, in effect a loop, of fibre. You will need the proper blanking plug available from BMW or perhaps Ebay? You will also find quite a lot of ther things are not working eg in EU spec cars the SOS feature will fail etc.

Have you tried plugging it back in to see if things start working again? That would be my obvious first step!

You are totally right, a lots of features are not working now, Damm, I want to go back to the old day when removing something does not disable the entire car . I will contact BMW for the plug, what exactly is it called ?

I unplug it last night, I did not try the radio or anything else after, I just notice the problems this morning when I was driving to work, I will go home during lunch to reconnect the CDC.

Ok, put the CDC back in and everything is working again, WOW, the strange how removing just a CDC will disable all these features on the car.

Just had a check with a local BMW guy. There is a plug available that is used when CDC not installed but wiring is in place. I have no idea what it is called, it is usually thrown in the bin when CDC is fitted. Have a word with your friendly dealer, they may help.
