Bmw diesel fuel injector and glow plug
Hi all,
I am planning to change my e60 glow plug but while reading on the net i saw some horror stories of they easily breaking off while removed if they are siezed
Also saw number of posts mentioning how difficult it is to remove diesel injectors and some bideos using hammer and all sorts to remove it plus number of business just especialised in removing them.
For instance a business in london removes them for £50 per injector etc and has paid 2 k for his kit.
I have never had such issues with petrol and this is my first diesel car. Are above correct ?
If so should i not risk removing the injector and plug? I am thinking of sending injectors for a test and rebuild if necessary
Surely above isnt true with petrol right?
Many thanks

I had no issues removing the glow plugs from my 530d. I sprayed with some inox penetrating fluid first and took some care using the torque wrench to undo them. It was set to just below the alleged snap-off level.
I also ensured the threads in the hole were as clean as possible before installing the new ones.
I have not removed my injectors - but 50 quid per hole sounds excessive unless they are also removing all the parts needed to access them and guarantee no breakages.
If I had to remove mine I would not hesitate to do it myself with a bit of prior research. You may be able to rent the necessary tools. The you tube videos I have seen look like how not to do it.
Good luck.
