Did you look at the image I posted in reply #19 of this thread?
The remote antenna is labeled "FBD" and is located in the top right corner of the glass (as you're looking at it from the rear of the car.)

Specifically, on page 2, there is a table that indicates where the antennas are on each BMW model that has CA. Hopefully, you'll find your answer there...
As far as the antenna for the remote control locking/unlocking (non-CA), I assume it's in the rear window like the E60.

I'm having similar issues with my comfort access tried locking the door as normal with key in pocket and it didn't work.
Now can only open and unlock when key is above windshiled or above back window, it's flaky if i'm next to the car and hold it above my head.
I did change the battery today and same results.
I only have one key.
Any ideas bad antena?
Bellow are the parts list for this CA anyone have any ideas of troublshooting this one?

Hello guys...
I have had this E60 for over two years now, and I think the range was decreasing with passing time (It was never impressive though). Then, yesterday I had car detailed, and boom, can only lock/ unlock when very close to rear windshield. So, it definitely has something to do with any coat they apply on inside/ outside (more likely) of the rear window. I also have rear window tinted (is there anyone here that is having this issue and the rear window is not tinted???).
Since we have the tints, dont think the antina can easily be damaged (its closed between glass and tinting paper).
I think two possible solutions. Clean window with amonia glass cleaner, to remove any layer they put on top, and see if it helps.
Since in my case, it decreased gradually, I think it might be FOB Antinna Amp issue (someone above mentioned it). Any more information on it? Any DIY???
Thanks
