Exactly. When you drive a BMW, people are silently envious until something goes wrong. Then they turn on you like a pack of hyenas. The check out lady at the ER said to keeptrack of all the time I spend on this, including any expenses, and even mileage for submission to the insurance comany. Maybe I can turn posting on e60.com into a full time paid job?

....Anyone know how to repack the headrests? Dealer says they can fix it but her insurance is not likely to pay their $100 per hour labor rate. Dealer suggested I have the body shop do it. I hope I don't get screwed in this repair job. If anyone knows what to do, please chime in.
From the looks of the following document, I'd say a good body shop should be able to repack the headrests. There is a gas cartridge that needs to be replaced (and can be replaced up to five times before the entire headrest would have to be replaced.) Either way, I'm surprised that the full cost of the repair wouldn't be covered by the insurance.

Thanks. I can say for sure that this particular head rest comes with the "comfort seat" optioned car. Not sure what other options might also trigger this being included. Maybe "premium package" or "sport package"?

Sorry to hear about your accident with the careless driver of the the other car....some people! I'm sure the car will look as good as new after the necessary repairs, as for the headrests, it was ENTIRELY her fault, they should be repaired professionally, at her cost, and you should be driving a rental car until ALL the work is completed to your satisfaction, don't let them off of the hook for their responsibility!!

Glad you're okay and I'm sure the bumper will look fine once it's fixed up.

Rudy do you have any idea when and which models they started putting in these types of head rest in?

Her insurance will pay whatever it will cost for you to have your car repaired regardless of what they try. If she doesnt have enough coverage your insurance will cover it under gap insurance i believe
