Rear door won't open after handle removed
HI all , I hope you can help me out. I took My rear handle out last night to repair the door on my e60 but the door is now closed and I can't pull the mechanism to open it . Child locks are on so I can't open from inside and it seems as if the mech to pull it is stuck behind another part in the door mech and can't pull past it . I have the front door handle out and I have no problems opening and closing it by pulling the mech as it is getting past the part that is stopping me in the rear . I see another post with someone having the same problem but his thread was hijacked and never got his fix . Thanks in advance chaPs .

yes mate. Key fob central lock unlocks all works an hear actuators clicking on off etc. Ive used an endoscope camera an found the strike plate is attached to claw lock on a deadlocked position. Iv access to internal as door card was removed before changing tumbler an removal of outside handle an back plate. Iv tried wiggling pulling all sorts with no luck. Iv a spare actuator which can be replaced if im goin to be smashing or cutting off actuator mechanisms etc. If i can somehow pressure the claw up wedging it using screwdriver or summit that will release claw from striker plate will be all good without damaging anything further though. Does anyone kw if i can open actuator housing or something to access the deadlocked claw throu internally or similar. I seen a video on ytube an persons smashed back part of actuator case an then used a screwdriver to turn the white plastic gears to release claw from striker bar plate..but it wasn't an bmw but another make vehicle but similarly looking like an BMW one. Thks bud. An to anyone in advance whos advised or knowledgeable bout this will gt me out if this dilemma...

I've only seen them done by cutting the plastic with a dremel to gain access. Either way you're going to have to destroy the actuator to open the door.
