The service information for my rear brake pads has read 16,000 miles for going on several weeks now. I had to undergo my states annual safety inspection recently and the tech stated the rear pads are nearing replacement, yet the sensor reading has been 16k miles ever since. I'm wondering if I have a bad sensor wire and false readings.
