The indy shop in Jacksonville FL says my rack & pinion is going out and it will be $2400 plus to fix. Yikes!!! Anyone have suggestions????

what are the symptoms/problems with the steering?

 

Seems like when I hit a Crack in the road, street or high way the car shifts a lot moves over slightly and i have to sorta grip the steering wheel. But if I let go of the wheel the car doesn't veer to the left or right so it's not the alignment and they said it's not my control arms upper or lower. I was going to do the Koni FSD stuts/Eibach springs kit til this happend so I'm just trying to see if anyone has had this issuw

 

Are you sure the tie rod ends and inner tie rods are ok. These would be my first suspects.

 

What Indy shop did you take it to in Jacksonville?

They said it wasn't the tie rod's
