Default Dead battery, then jump started

05 530i 6 speed
Left lights on by mistake one day at work. Came out to head home and the car only did two revolutions before stopping. Got a jump from a coworker and car fired right up. Now, my steering wheel is slightly to the left. I tried to recalibrate it a few times and still the same thing. Also, I have intermittent chipping out from the radio, sort of like what a scratched CD would do. A split second cut out, but keeps playing. What could be causing these two issues? Battery seems like it has good power, so I'm not sure if it could really be that.

How old is the battery? Have it tested at an AutoZone or Pep Boys. It doesn't take much for batteries to make electronics go kafooey on these cars.

I am sure the battery "seems like it has good power" but unfortunately with modern fuel injection/electronic ignition cars they start so easily that you no longer have extended cranking which used to warn of a low battery when the starter slowed down as the battery ran low during cranking. Today you get no warning before the battery won't crank the engine anymore.

And unfortunately the BMW demands loads of current at the correct voltage to run all of items in the car. When the voltage sags car modules will do strange things.

As jayarras suggested, go to an automotive parts store and have the battery tested for free along with the alternator to ensure both are working properly.

If so, then after you start the car turn the wheel all the way in one direction until it stops and then turn it all the way in the other direction until it stops and then drive for a few miles and it should reset itself.
