Quickest Way to heat up car

Guys,

just some quick advice for a Uk e60 owner....something thats been on my mind but cant seem to find a answer??

Whats the quickest way to heat up the car in the monring, currently i get in and just hit the auto button then turn on the AC and drive.

Brother... that is the same thing I do. I am contemplating purchasing an after market heater of some sort. But, I am not sure. From what I hear, most people in the E60 community just deal with it.

For short intervals between driving, you could also try the residual heat finction if you have advanced air con. Never tried it myself.

best way is to have a blanket in your car til your car is heat it.

My '86 524TD had a plug-in heater that warmed the fuel filter and either coolant or oil (can't remember which). In extreme cold climates these plug in heaters are common. Truckers use them too. It's more economical than using a remote start device and idling your engine for 10 minutes before driving off.

In my non-Bimmer(looking at an e60) car I turn the mode to defrost, heater temp all the way up and the fan off. As the engine temp start to come out of the basement I turn mode to feet and fan on slowly. Also keep recirculate.

I am going to guess that the auto feature probably does something similar. I would vote for the heated seats

The best way I found on my car is to have auto on, aircon on, recirc on, makes no sense in my mind to have the aircon on for heat but there you go

Worked the best for me so far, im UK as well btw
