You will not be disapointed with HiFi. Just crank up the bass as soon as you get it.

[/quote]To be honest I think L7 is worth the extra (I think we get hifi as standard in the US) but the only way to tell is listen to both (or all three if outside the US) and see what you prefer. My only real complaint with L7 is that I wish there were more presets for the DSP options geared towards type of music.

Waiting for - 535d Sport, Silver Grey, Foldy Mirrors, 172 19",Logic7,Pro Radio,Through load,Heated Front Seats,High Gloss shadowline,Black Maple,Headlight wash,Sun Protection Glass.
L7 is really good, I heard standard radio yesterday and it lacks clarity and high end. Havnt heard the HiFi so cant comment, I have the L7 vand now a twiddled with it and set it to theatre setteing so that the centre speaker plays a part, I am really happy with it. 
As it comes off the transporter, it seems our german friends think that we all like full on hard Bass riffs,in a rap or garage styleee, IMO at this setting it sound pants so if you get L7 (and I think its worth it) get the base down to a level thats not gonna blow your ear drums....and I think youll like it like I do.
and if you love bass...nuff said

The HiFi is on a different planet compared to the std UK system.
I would have had L7 if I hadn't have had the 172 wheels - you can't have everything!

the HIFI system is very nice, definitely much more better that jsut standart stereo. Logic 7 is probably better but definitely not worth the money in case you have maximum budget for the car. I have heard both and HIFI is very very good. Standart is ok but no bass.

My Ride: 2005 525i Titanium Silver Metalic and 2003 325xi Jet Black with the Premium Package in both cars.
The HiFi system in my 5 sounds just fine. It has plenty of base, if I set it up that way, whether I listening to Easy Listening, Jazz, Disco, Rock or yes my friends, even classical, it sound good.
