Hi, i have a 2004 BMW 525i and when i got the car, navigation was not available. I really wanted a navigation but i couldn't wait for it because i needed a new car right away. Is it possible to get the navigation put in now? My dealer says it can't be done, but i thought it could be.

I strongly assume it will be a matter of money
As I know, refitting the car is unaffordable in most cases, especially when hardware components have to be replaced or must be put in additionally ...
F.e., I have heard leather seats exchange will take more than $9.000 ...

We in Singapore do not have the NAV yet. Reason is that we do not really need NAV here in Singapore because we aere a really small island. It will only benefit those who visit Malaysia often. However, BMW has yet to compile the info of both copuntries into ONE DVD. I hear its a disagreement on cost sharing that is delaying this very important development. However, I heard from the BMW reps here that when the system eventually comes in, BMW will offer us a good discount to retrofit the NAV. So thats your answer; it can be retrofitted.
However, I have heard that in order to fit the unit, your whole OB has to be changed. That WILL set you back quite a fair bit.

I had the same problem. Now, I have gone for a cheap, but excellent option. Tomtom Go. Probably around $500 in the US. Not as neat as the buit in one, but pretty good. Very, very efficient too. I have read people saying it is better than many built in models.
