Thumbs up

Noob question here, in my center console, when i open the arm rest, then open the second storage compartment, on the front there is a little input where I can open/close (shifts up and down) outlet. What is this?

it's a vent...turn your a/c on and lift the tab up in the center console...

on the LCI e60's (2008+ models that is where the ipod/usb plug goes)

update your profile/sig with your location and e60 info..it helps to answer future q's

It's to divert the air from the a/c system to keep that compartment either hot or cold.
