I would start pressing BMW for another car since they haven't fixed the one you have and its' eating up your remaining warranty time. At a minimum I'd press for a free warranty extension from BMW directly or one of its preferred warranty companies like Fidelity.
+1 Yes. It means to swap your car for one of at least equal value. It is way past due at this point. There are serious issues and although they are "working on it" and giving you a free loaner, it is STILL not the car you are paying for and your warranty does continue to disappear. I agree 100% with the possible option of extending your warranty for the length of time that the car remains in the shop beyond a reasonable time (they are far beyond reasonable at this point). However, I would not settle for a third party warranty. BMW or nothing. Far less hassle without third party involvement and far less question about actual coverage when an incident occurs.

Collateral swap is a common resolution for issues like this. You need to stop thinking and saying that your service advisor is "awesome". He may be personable but he has yet to get the job completed for you. "Awesome" would be discussing options that are available to you even though they may not be what the dealership deems to be the most favorable to them. You probably can read into how direct many of us who have responded to you seem to communicate. THIS is how you need to be when communicating to the dealer and BMW NA about your "PROBLEM". Stand up tall and insist on swift resolution of the problem (which WILL include extended factory warranty) or insist on a collateral swap option. Stay on the BMW NA rep NOT the dealer at this point. As I pointed out to you before, BMW will be very loyal. Pressure from them will get the desired results from the dealer.

OK, are we still discussing how cute she is :-)

PLEASE forget the GM at this point and go directly to BMW NA. Trust me. Many years ago I worked at a dealer. The GM will ne more interested in covering his butt than anything at this point. They have proven that your car is not a priority. Now you simply make their dealership a priority with BMW.

Wow what a never ending story eh? I agree with your next steps, plus contact BMW NA and demand a solution. i also like the idea of a swap, perhaps under the lemon act.

Sigh!

Alright, I'm just going to go ahead and say it. Something here doesn't seem right.

Constant overheating messages for the last 12+ months on the N52? No codes or record found by the dealer after repeated overheating events? The dealer supposedly replaced practically every expensive part that could possibly be related to the cooling system (water pump, thermostat, DME etc.)

I've owned an N52 powered car (530i), and did get the overheating message on the IDrive. Within 2 days, I got replacement water pump and that was that.

This story just doesn't seem to add up. This is a naturally aspirated BMW, not the space shuttle.

I'm not saying its not possible, I'm just saying some of the "facts" in this thread seem suspicious, or at least very unusual.

I know what you mean. We see a license plate and a person and the back of a car. But mostly the person of a minority gender in an automotive forum. With a drawn out story.....but could be true. Unless there's some twisted soul out there that has no life and just gets kicks out of making stuff up.

Well if this is a hoax, the admins can find out the IP address of the OP. People who know the dealers she's taken the car to, can call them up and verify the story. People can also look up the licence plate to verify the owner who's name happens to be Christyna.

who cares or has time for this. lol. I really don't care to be honest. Hope whoever is having fun or gets their car fixed or whatever.
An IP address isn't going to tell the moderators anything. Do you really think the person committed a crime for the board to track down the ISP, contact authorities, have the authorities get a subpoena, serve the ISP, wait for a response and so forth? If this was a hoax do you even think it would even go past the board members? And why do you think the posters name is Christyna? Because he/she told you?

Christyna if you are real, I am sorry to say he/she above but I am using it assuming I don't know the true identity or gender. I am not saying you are a he/she and I am not saying you're not a he/she, I am just making an example. I'm sure you understand. Anyway good luck.
