Just got back. The manager seemed understanding but only became convinced after we lined up the car (and the scratches) with the track....right on the money. After he saw rhat he asked me to get an estimate and they would either reimburse me or give me services in place of the money (detail, polsih, etc).

I'll keep you all posted.

I will say that I have been using these gus for years and several cars and have never had a problem.

thx all for listening
That's awesome bro.. Glad to hear it's all gonna work out.

Great to hear about places that respect their customers like that. Make sure to really thank him after he pays you/reimburses you with services for the damage. He seems to have been more than understanding which you don't get often these days, he really prides his customers it seems.

I know it's frustrating that there was damage in the first place but it's good when an owner knows that his customer care does not go unnoticed and is well worth it.

Pretty sure the USA is much the same as uk, all automatic car washes of all types display a sign which clearly states "AT OWNERS RISK"

My car was recently scratched to hell by my local, and I will never use it again no matter how desperate !

You're lucky that the car wash place is honest about its business. You would rarely find that here in NYC.

Well, they did the best they could to make things right. Sounds like you handled things very well. Once it's repaired, you'll never know the difference--the guys who do that are really talented. Glad to hear it worked out--that's a company I would patronize, just maybe for other services.
+1 Thats right. If your going to wash your car at car wash it should be at a hand wash, power sprayer that you do by hand. But the best choice is at home with.....

4 micro fibers, slip on hand washing mitt, and a bucket of warm water.

Hello all. So, I just got back from my car wash and noticed two deep scratches in my from rim where they push it through the tracks. Didnt notice till i got home!

F*&K !!!!

Is it worth even calling since ive left the place. Also, how much do you think this will cost to fix?

Thanks for your help
I saw your updated post. I like the idea of bartering for detailing. You now have formed a neat relationship. He has his staff detail your car for free. You buy him a lunch occasionally. Your next car is detailed at a disc hopefully. You buy him another lunch. Bartering is fantastic.

Eventually, you will get some curb rash; fix the wheels after you have some substantial scratches on them.

Remember that life is a two way street. I love when car dealers or garages mess up small things on my American cars. Both I and the dealer come out on the good end of the deal.
