I'm eyeing a CPO 2014 diesel 535, and wanted to know the group members' opinions on the diesel version of the 5 series?


Is it worth it, any problems, etc...

They're really good in terms of performance and gas mileage. They are a problem if you do mostly short journeys. They take about 10 miles to fully get up to temperature and need a decent highway run of about 40 mins say once a week. Otherwise the diesel particulate filter in the exhaust clogs up.

No major flaws, the engine is well proven.
