I have 2006 530XI and I have a problem with air getting into my brake system. I had the dealer bleed the brakes on two seperate occasions and it only lasts about a month before the pedal gets really soft again. Should I replace the brake booster and master cylinder? Any other ideas?

^^^Try checking the seal on the brake fluid reservoir first. Might save you some time and money.

Yeah there's no evidence of any leaking around that seal or anywhere else

That doesn't mean it's sealed properly. Air could be coming in.

+1, a $10 cap is less money than a $$$ master cylinder.

Let me clarify. It may not be CLOSED properly or too tight. When you tighten too much you squish the rubber o-ring and you are actually being counter productive because you're introducing a way for air to get in. Probably no need to buy a new cap. There is a one-way breather in most caps
