I've read the owner's manual, and still can't figure this out: If I want to operate the Home Link garage door opener without the engine running, I believe I should be able to do so, by first pressing the start button twice, without applying the brake pedal. Is that right? It doesn't work for me. Does the remote have to be inserted? Does anyone know if it's possible to engage the garage door opener without the engine running?

Thanks, I just ran to the garage and it works (though I had to press the button thrice - I probably made a small mistake).
The technique will be very handy when its cold again and I don't want to open the garage door before I get in the car.
Ain't these modern inventions useful
