Hi All, new to this forum, but a long time fan of BMWs. Currently drive a 1998 528i, but it's quickly approaching 100k miles and I think it's finally time to upgrade . Interested in buying a preowned 2006 550i and came across the following listing on Ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...ADME:B:EF:US:11

Only has about 9k miles and supposedly was traded in for a new Lexus . Dealer claims no paint or body work, but I noticed that the car has the M5 wheels and body kit (Aero?). Are these typically a dealer installed option or aftermarket on these cars? How can I find out as I would be less inclined to buy if original owner did all this after the fact. Thanks in advance to any feedback you may have!

You can order the M-Kit with the car new .... although it is installed at a vehicle preparation center (NJ, SC, or CA). The M5 wheels would have been added afterwards ... but many of us have done so.
You should keep looking for a 550i - it's a great machine.

And I don't know why you'd be less inclined just because they were port or dealer installed....the port does fine work, but no better than many body shops elsewhere, and the factory can't balance wheels anyway....
I was keeping an eye on that car too. Oh well.
