I'm starting to long for the days when there was vinyl, leather and wood steering wheels. The more modern "you can't tell it's not leather" leather isn't cutting it for me. Alcantara would be nice if it was available.

What I meant to say is that all steering wheels are plastic with leather coverings and that the plastic conducts the heat

I thought the wheels were made of alum. or other metal. Regardless past wheels including E39 and E53 didn't get as hot so something changed for the worse.
