Please Help!!! I Drive Problem but Different Then Any I Found!
Ok, so here is the deal. 2010 E6x M6. 62,xxx miles. Pulled SMG Trans for repair. Trans was out for a few months and the car was sitting for a month or so after install. Everything worked perfect before transmission removal.
After reinstalling the transmission. Charged battery. Reconnected the battery, did clutch bleed and alignment procedure in INPA. That all went just fine. As soon as that was done, went to drive the car and the I Drive knob and buttons don't work at all. No function in any way shape or forum from the knob or any of the buttons around the knob. The system boots fine and there are no CIC codes listed in the INPA error code reports. I don't know where to go from here. I am working on it for my wife's boss. I have a ton of expereince with older bmw's. I've built over 30 cars `99 back. But this is my first time digging into a newer car. Please any help here is very much appreciated! He's very upset that it worked before and now it doesn't.
Oh PS - Just went and got a brand new battery as I read that an old battery can cause multiple issues so I started with that. It is an exact replacement, same CCA and same style as original battery.
So my question is, where do I go from here? Has anyone ever had this same issue? I've done the reset of the I Drive as well. I.E. holding the eject and mute buttons.

Even though you're talking about an M6, I moved this post to our general E60 forum figuring you'll get more traction here.

Nope, everything is plugged in. I even removed the console and got a replacement controller that was tested. The only thing I can think is that maybe there is a full reset procedure for the in-dash navi unit. I really have tried everything I can think of and still nothing. Anyone else have ideas?
