i chose my anthracite interior OVER the e-class. the e-class interior is ugly. the older model anyway. the new one is nice but there's no idrive. idrive is he best invention ever! I love my interior and it's was sold me.

i drove a friends merc and i hated it.
it was sloppy and sluggish
the steering was fairly unresponsive and absorbed too much on the shocks, i didnt get any road feedback
after i got out i hugged my car and drove off with a grin
BMW is a drivers car for a reason, its made by engineers that actually push their cars.

It's funny nobody mention how $hit mercs are mechanicaly. The last 5-7 years it's been a downfall on mercedes from a mechanical point of view. Yes, they're still built to look nice on the outside and inside with quality materials used but way too many corners have been cut on the mechanics.
Ultimately, it is though down to each person to get what he/she likes. From what i can read you want a car to ooze luxury. I don't get how you think an e60 looks cheap but hey it's what you want in the end. And it seems you're more inclined to the comfort and luxury feel rather than driving performance so have a look on which car has these attribute the most. Don't get limited only to mercs though

The new M-B is not as good as the current E60.
