Default Passenger Side Daytime Running Light Not Turning On

Hey guys the other day I was installing new hid bulbs for the high beams and I noticed the daytime wires copper was exposed after the job.

Once I tested the headlights I noticed the car showed the daytime lights malfunction. Could it be a short circuit or could it be that the bulb popped?

Could be both. Exposed wires are common. Been there.

Pull the pod so you can work on the bench with it. Easy to remove. Open both back ports and inspect with a flashlight. The insulation fails in numerous Hella's of the era.

You can restore them to working condition by applying shrinktube on the bare wires you can reach, and making sure none of the wires a touching.

The ones you can't reach are unlikely to touch in the absence of manipulation. That's often why lamp errors occur after bulbs are installed, particularly if bulb are installed in the pod while it's in the car. Best to work on the bench with these pods.
