So they give you location of the car so you can go to the violent armed gangs house and demand it back !! I'm 6ft 4 and 17 stone, but i don't argue with bullets!!
I'm 6'2" and 19 stone, but I wouldn't just go and knock on the door. I would stalk them and pick them off one by one. But anyway, I shouldn't be writing this here, it could end up being used against me as evidence one day

Sleepingdog, you had any updates on your delivery date?
Told that car should be built week38/39, leading to mid October delivery - so i guess it's roughtly the same as you guys, same as I told you before I think

Haven't considered a Tracker - maybe I should. Though my insurance for the 535 will "only" be ?530.

You must be well old to be getting insurance like that

By the way, does anyone know if you get the First Aid Kit and Warning Triangle as standard or is it an option?

Hey now, I'm not even 40!!! Just accumulated many years of no-claims. Think triangle and first aid kit are standard - they always used to be.

You may end up needing the first aid kit if the tracker locates your stolen car for you!

(The triangle can be used on the snooker table in the hospital rest room too!)

Tell me about it: another eight soul destroying weeks to go...

Mind you, my wife's new Focus ST3 arriving on 1st September will give me something to play with until the real metal arrives!

I'm picking up my car from Southend (I live in Glasgow), so I've got one big drive to give it a good run-in. It should put close to 500 miles on it. The remaining 500-700 miles I'm sure I can do over the following week.

Like you said mate, I want my car NOW!!!!
Hey fastboy, if you live in Glasgow, how come your buying your car from Southend???

All the best with the new purchase!

Barry

LOL.

Bardel, I ordered online through Carfile.net. The dealer they use is in Southend. I was offered a price within ?1,000 of this price by my local dealer, but I quite like the idea of picking the car up at the other end of the country. I've done it before and it's a great way to get used to a new car, with a long run like that.

Looking forward to the wife's ST as well. It is some car for the money. I'm also running it in for her

Same here - My first online purchase through DriveTheDeal was an Audi, from Dundee. I had it delivered The 535d is coming from Coventry, about 100 miles away, so I'll definitely be picking that up in person. The saving being offered was so big I didn't even bother speaking to my local dealer, i just snapped it up before they changed their minds!

I think some BMW dealers are a lot more open to negotiation than others, especially since most people will just walk away from a forecourt dealer and use an internet broker if they aren't satisfied. My local dealer was open to bargaining, I showed the salesman print outs from a couple of internet sites and he came very close indeed to their figures, admittedly after a few days of phone calls, but I was impressed by the salesman and the way they dealt with me as far as test drives etc went. Having never used any internet sites to purchase a car before I was a bit apprehensive about them, but it is reassuring to hear that they all seem to be reputable and give good customer service. The latter is all we can ask for from both internet brokers and forecourt dealers!
