I say hold out for nav and logic 7. Took me almost 6 months but i found my 05 with every option but cold weather and HUD for 20k OTD.

Make sure that the dealer isn't screwing with you and telling you the car has a sportpackage. Check under the hood and find a little black box with small metal tubes running to it. It should say Active Steering. If it does, you have sport package.
They dont know any better probably and its on you to know what you are buying. Id grab the vin take it to my local bmw dealer and run it for repairs and what packages it has.
I would offer them $20,000 and see what they do. You can always negotiate up but never down.

On the 2004 and 2005 and some of the early 2006 Sport Models (non-SMG), this is what the steering wheel looked like, even with Sport Package. It was identical to the non-sport, although I do believe the steering wheel itself was still thicker.

My Ride: 2006 525XI, Jet black on Dakota beige. Premium and winter packages. I consider myself a purist and intend to keep my car absolutely stock and shiny.

Personally, I would have more peace of mind buying a CPO car from BMW. The factory warranty on that one is going out really soon and BMW isn't known for value-priced repairs.
Thanks to this forum, you can probably fix some things yourself but, again, it's the "peace of mind."
Goto BMWUSA.com and click under CPO, then click MODEL SEARCH, they have an easy tool that lets you search BMWNA's entire national inventory so you can find the EXACT car you want, it's almost like having the same freedom of choice as buying new. Plus, BMW has 0.9% financing which no bank or credit union can match (cheapest I've seen in Utah is 5.49%). There are lots of car loan calculators out there, I use bankrate.com's calculator and it tells you how much you'll pay in interest when it's all said and done. A CPO car might cost you a few k more, but it's basically a wash since you'll be paying a few k more by financing thru a bank or credit union at their insane rates (which pisses me off cuz we just gave them $700B and now they're asking for more!), so it's like getting a free extended warranty for the same final cost.
Get a CPO'ed BMW and have less worry and enjoy your car more!

Also, have the car checked out by an independent mechanic YOU CHOOSE. I don't care if the car has only 100 miles and it's got a warranty for 100,000 miles, GET IT CHECKED OUT. Remember, there's nothing wrong with your money but there could be plenty wrong with that car. Get it checked out before you buy. And if the mechanic finds something and you still want the car, get the seller to completely fix it first before you close. That way if it gets deeper and costly it's on their dime, not yours.
