Just returned from getting an oil change at the one year point. The Service Indicator shows that I have 2700 miles to go, with the car showing 8500 miles on the odometer. When I picked up the car, the service indicator had not been reset, so I asked the SA whether or not it should be be reset. The explanation was that BMW specifies an oil change at one year, and the Condition Based System (CBS) would indicate when the remainder of the service should be performed. I said OK, now when the CBS indicates service to be performed, what service will be performed? The SA said all of the additional checks and service functions required will be performed. At my rate of driving, this will be in about 3-4 months considering that this is Winter. So I asked will they do another oil change along with everything else, and he responded, yes.
Since I do a mid year oil change on my dime, this is going to get interesting.

Hi Joe....I am from Maryland too. What dealer did you get your service done at? I bought my car from Tischer BMW in Silver Spring.

Enjoy your car, and by the way, stop by there and see the Black Sapphire M5 on the floor. It does get the pulse up.

Yea....I was just there on Saturday and the M5 is beautiful. I was so sad that it was locked. Did you get a chance to go to the Porsche side and see the Carrera GT...amazing.

Woo Hooo I wouldnt have to pay for another mid oil change! Sweet!
