Update to my update....

Headed down the freeway yesterday, I noticed some significant feedback coming through the steering wheel at speeds above 42 mph. So I took the car back to the dealer today, thinking it was going to be a 10 minute balance issue. Turns out both or one (I am still not sure) of the front Dunlops was bad, and that the problem only manifested itself with a "high" speed balance, as opposed to a "low" speed balance. I know this only because I inquired as to whether or not they balanced the new tires before they put them on, and why the problem was not found then, last week. I realize that a whopping 27 miles on the new tires is really a lot, but seriously, this is getting to the point of being absurd. I would expect to have these issues with a 12k Yugo, but a 65k BMW, that has been in the shop as many times as mine, I am getting a little tired of it. My wife gets treated better than I do at the Land Rover shop, and the Ford guys love me (although I bring them beer.) The Porsche people actually come get the cars when they need service, and I have never had these repeated issues with them. Although I will end up with two new tires to replace the two other new tires, i still watsed 2 hours of my time.

Oh Great. I just picked up a brand new $61,000 BMW 535 and it came equipped with these lousy tires. My tire dealer friend called them "Dunflops". That really pisses me off that BMW would have the nerve to put these tires on such a nice car. Feels like they are just trying to get your money and in a few thousand miles it's your problem.

I was an early owner of a new body style 330 with run flat tires that feathered and when I took it in they wouldn't do a thing for me. (that was pre-TS After I persoanlly spent $900 to repace the tires, BMW decided to start replacing the defective RFTs. They still wouldn't help me.

So here I go again. I swear, I feel like just marching right up to my dealer with only 500 miles on my new car and demand a better set of tires! Do all 2008 535s with sport come equipped with Dunflops?

Does the TSB apply when the car had BRAND NEW Dunlop's on it when purchased as a CPO at 36K miles and front inside worn at 45K miles????

I was without camera today, but if I had one, I would have posted a pic of my 550i rolling down the street on the flatbed tow truck. Been on vacation for 10 days, and today, went out to the garage to fire the car up for a jaunt to work. Tire alarm sounded, got out, and one of my brand new, less than 30 miles on it, run flat, was indeed, flat. SA told me to hit the SOS button, call for a tow. Keep in mind, I am waiting for the two brand new front tires to replace the other brand new tires. New nickname for the car is now the SS Minnow, and the 964 has now abdicated the title of hanger queen...
