Hi,

Reading this thread it appears the tuningboxes aren't in favour here. Still I'd ask: anyone tried tuningbox.com device with 525d (Belgian one) or 178HP one? Does the improved acceleration plaster proverbial grin on ones face? Does it make good friends with auto transmission?

Also reading this thread got a question (excuse my ignorance - new here):

- I read that auto transmission can take less torque compared to manual? Thats really a surprise to me. The 6HP26 autobox that is used with all E60 diesels apparently is the same box as one on 740d (this one has some torque to spare . The gas engines producing less torque are using 6HP18.

regards,
GMF

The auto can take more torque. Thats why the 535d is only available in auto. I think the auto can take up to 600nm.

final results:
i settled for 47O torgue and 215 horsepower on the 525d. Heinz felt that the car handles great with those figures and there was no need to give it some more torgue or horsepower. With those figures i am 1OO% safe even if i drive wild all of the time.

As the engine was new i agreed there was no need to push the bar further.
Indeed car handles great. I have a little tiny dip between in lower regions because i think of the partikel filter. But the good news is with sutch massive torgue availeble now you dont notice it.

So i now have a 53Od in stead of a 525d

ps i also added some 2O mm spacers rear and 1O mm spacers front.

Looks very good now.

Heres the chart of pascal E61 after fine tuning
http://users.telenet.be/pascalo/Heinz%205.jpg

for a while pascal had even more but they felt it was to much to call it perfekt so
they tone it down
The to much dyno is on this url
http://www.vtm.be/auto/forum/attachment.ph...tachmentid=2197

consumption i dont know and frankly i dont care as i tank on the firms bill
but they sayd it would stay unchanged

@ pmmeke:
What was was the original hp of your car - 163 or 177?
The heinz-diagram showed 179 hp.
I just ordered a german e60 "Fleet Edition" 525d with 163 hp.
Is there really a difference between these 2 versions or is it just because of the taxes?

Bmw belgium did not do their job. Not that we would complain
This was confirmed by heinz who did lots of limited horsepower editions
No limit : every belgium car has german specs

Only if you import the car from germany to belgium you need a paper from bmw belgium. Before they give you that paper they will actualy limit it and charge you 5OO euro. Other then that if you buy a belgium bmw dealership bmw its 177 minimum

Thanks for your answer.
Here you can see the special offer for corporate sales in Germany - you save
2.300 Euro compared to a "normal" 525d.
