Honda S2000 (Track and Street setup)
2006 CBR rr 1000 (Street and track setup)
Same thing happened to me 6 months ago but with mine, it would reset itself after 2 hrs and drive fine again. Then it happened again a month after so I got it towed to the dealership where I bought the car from. In conclusion, it was the hydraulic SMG module pump that was the issue. It was a hefty part to replace $$$ but warranty covered it. Hope this helps. Good luck.

there is a lot of info on this over on the m5board.com and it appears that the SMG pump is a common failure on these transmissions. from what i understand they are roughly $2k to replace but after that it should be good to go...
im sorry to hear about your troubles man, i hope its a simple fix though. Good luck!

Hi, some time ago I got also some problems with my smg. IT wont change gears after when engine was hot. Stuck into neutral and transsmision fault light came. I fight wit this for some time. I have changed clutch and dual mass flyhwhell. But it wont help. After time I saw in live data that clutch travel sensor stops working when engine was hot. So it was it. Clutch Travel sensor. It is really easy to check it, if you got Gt1 or Inpa make live data from digital data drom your gearbox. Normaly when everything is ok you shoud have 600-750 incremente but when he stops working it is 99. When data is 99inc it is impossible to change any gear.

Well, this could be one of three things or a combination thereof. It could be a blown fuse in the panel in the trunk (above the battery). If you look at the fuse description, there is one for SMG specifically. I had blown this one while I was mucking with the shifter upgrade and it exhibited the exact behavior you are describing. If you find that it's not the fuse in the trunk, there is a control relay for the SMG in the engine compartment on the passenger side. You will need to remove the cabin air filter box as it is sitting underneath it. It is the "salmon" colored one. Can't miss it. I think it wa a few bucks from the dealer. If you verified/replaced the above two pieces, you should be able to hear the pump "prime" itself everytime you unlock your door with the remote. If you don't, then there is a good chance that it'd be the SMG pump. I believe there is a repair kit/assembly you can buy for $600-700 now instead of getting a whole tranny replaced. Good luck, feel free to hit me up if you have more queations.

My warranty didn?t do shit... when my pump went I had to dumb $3200 for a PUMP/ New CLUTCH, my service sheet was 40 pages because alot of recalls were done., I made the after warranty company take a trip down to Bayside BMW and see what was going on, and they said "the pump and the clutch are not covered under warranty".
I hope your luck isnt bad as mine. Good luck.
