My Ride: 2006 BMW M5, Silverstone with black extended leather, brushed aluminium trim, Nav Pro, Logic 7, PDC, 35 % tint.
I went into I-drive under service and it said I needed an oil change and filter ot 0 k.m., I only have 1000 km/ on the car! I took it to BMW and they said there wasn't a problem, they just had to reset the service indicator to 24,000 k.m., apparently it is a known glitch.

Well, I got back from the dealer and picked up my 545. I took it there at 8:30 this morning, and picked it up at 5:45 (no pun intended )
Anyhow, the service rep told me that they hooked up the car to a computer that supposedly reprogrammed "the entire car." Well, I don't know about that because all of the settings - like on the CD changer, etc. - were the same, so I would think that reprogramming the entire car would change the settings. Anyway, all I know is that the oil indicator on the Idrive no longer says that the oil needs to be changed.
BTW, when I first bought by car in NJ I noticed that there was some condensation inside one of the headlight covers. I told the sales rep that and he had it replaced.
Thanks again for all of your warm greetings and help. I look forward to further participating on this site.

Your car was updated. Some times your car remembers everything, sometimes it doesn't, and sometimes the tech put everything back for you. I think the difference is a reprogram (which keeps most settings) or a reinstall (which whpes everything out)
