Hi , i got a 520i E60 2008 N46 ENGINE , with low mileage 15,000 miles. There is an oil leak and there was an error message about valvetronic failure. So the mechanic clean the valvetronic and replaced the Cyl.head cover complete with new gasket . After some days there was still leak , so the guy open the rocker cover and saw there was a leak through the gasket. But the problem is that he change the rocker cover completely but its still leaking. The problem is that even i am replacing a the rocker cover gasket with a new one , the leak is not stopping. I assume that there is so much pressure in the engine so it leaking from there as maybe there is a part which isnt working. Any solution? Thanks
I would check your oil filter seal and oil filter generally.Maybe make sure if there are set torque settings for the rocker cover that they are not being done up too tight or too loose.
The other thing which it pains me to physically type is the "alternator bracket gasket" not sure but I did some googling on the other forum. Alternator Bracket for Generator Housing oil Leak- UPDATE & OBSERVATION - Bimmerfest - BMW Forums
Good luck
