So I've been looking for a set for almost a year, like most I didn't want to spent 900+ for a set.
I ended up buy one at a time from eBay, with luck, I found R/L total of $630 shipped. Today I took a trip to Advance Auto, and bought a sheet of CF (12.99),
and here is the outcome.

OEM M5 mirros for $600-383114_10150505833672830_686262829_8900063_943043647_n.jpg

Questions, I don't know have much knowledge about these, but the LEFT mirror only has 3 wires running out, 1 conntector. The Right mirror had 12 wires, 3 connectors, I was told by the seller its AUTO DIP, AUTO FOLD.
I know the auto fold will not work, as my OEM once are not programmed to do so, But I hope the auto dip works?

any advice before I install these, and what I can expect to work and not to.

So the LEFT is post 9/'05 and the RIGHT is pre 9/'05 ... what is the build date of your car? You can find it by the driver side door jamb.

Bad news is depending on your car one of the side is un-usable ... you can try to hack it by re-using the std mirror motor+ecu in place of the one in the M5 mirror.

GL!

I believe its a April 04, not 100%... I really care for the RIGHT SIDE, I just hope auto dip, and movement of the for the right, I not that concerned for the left, being that I paid 600, which I was aiming to buy an aftermartket set w.o any core works... oh I hope all the light work as well. What you think?

thanks

So your car is pre 9/'05 so you should have 12 wires split into 3 plug that will match the RIGHT side, but those 12 wires on 3 plugs will have nowhere to go into the 3 wires single plug on the LEFT side. All the current future on your std mirror will work on the m5 mirror which has all the wires properly connected of course .
