Been noticing the back light on the on board computer screen (between the speedometer and rev meter) flickering lately. Sometimes it becomes very bright and sometimes very dim. The Idrive screen is not affected its only the OBC screen?
Anyone else get this problem?
Thanks

I noticed this too... It turns out as i was going under streetlights the glare was hitting the photocell so the display was just adjusting to what it thought was the ambiant light level.
Outside the city it is very stable.

That's what I'm wondering. We need to find out what 535dMAN means by flicker.
The MID display will adjust it's brightness and it will "pulse" as you're driving down a road with street lights, etc. If the display is doing something else, then there may be a problem...

Had exactly the same issue with my last BMW a 330Ci, again the dealer could not fix.
Also noticed while driving along once all the dials dropped to zero then immediately returned to where they were.
Any ideas anyone?

There was a similar issue with the MID display on both of my E39 cars -- it only flashed (randomly) when the instrument illumination was dimmed all the way down (which I usually do.)
By chance do you keep the instrumentation dimmed?
