Last night, when driving on local roads at may be 35-40, a small stone hit the windsheild, now there is a crack on windsheild.
Wondering if I could get Dealer to replace it when I take it in service or have to deal with insurance? Any recommendations. Thanks!

I'd bet it will depend on the policies of your insurance company. I've been with USAA for forty years, and they're now in the mode of sending a policyholder to glass places which will do the job for presumably less money. Considering the complexity of the project (rainsensor, etc.), I'd try to make a case to have a BMW Center replace it with OEM glass.
use OEM glass only.

I think most insurance companies will try to send you to their repair service, which is cheaper, but will allow you to go to BMW if you insist, which you should. Not all "OEM" windshields are truly OEM.

Boy! How many of us have had cracked windshields from almost no impact? There is something amiss in the glass/plastic compound that BMW is using for sure.

Whoever does it I would recommend OEM glass ,I know a guy who used an aftermarket windshield and his rain sensor has never been right since.
