My parents bought me my car about one year ago to this day. It was a MY08 535xi and we paid about $61k for it. But now that I see people getting MY10 E60s in May and June, I can't help but feel that we paid for an 09 car, the dealer just didn't tell us about it. It's just something I recently realized with everyone's new threads on their 2010 5ers and pictures.

Options are in my sig. Is it possible there were 09s, but they were trying to move the "outdated" "old" ones before?
i'd say, since your parents bought you your car, you got the best deal in town

My dad isn't the best negotiator, so it's understandable. I didn't have the knowledge I eventually got from this forum, but... the SA had to make a living too, right?

But thanks for the input.
how does one get to the point to be able to by their kid a $61K car and not be a good negotiator. Everyone I know with that kind of cash flow is somewhat smooth and money savy.

none of my business, so no need to reply to this post, just curious and felt like saying something.

Best present my folks gave me was saying "you're 18 now son...we won't be giving you anything more. Good luck."

It all worked out OK, and 20 years later, I love my parents, but geeze, to be 19 in a family where the parents buy me a new E60...what a different world.

Not being critical, just amazed.

Your parents seem to be very generous and loving ...

Allow me to ask you to recognize their generosity to you by letting your dad know that a well known bridge has just become available for private sale ... the price is negotiable. Offers 50% above market value will be considered.

BTW, you know we're poking at you in the true spirit of BMWManShip ... maybe a little jealous that many had to buy our own first BoyToys ...
