Default Some sort of oil leak...

I am a newb to these cars but not to wrenching. Any help or advice would be great. Last time i had this car fixed it cost me 1500 bux.

Yes I know if I don't want to spend the money than I need to sell it... Exactly what I am trying to do, but now this!

Anyone ever seen anything like this?

66k miles 530xi Touring

unless the oil is leaking somewhere above (like valve cover gasket), rear crankshaft seal may be the source of that leak.

bone dry up top... going to run a few tests... i cleaned the area really well. just going to run the car and see how much oil is gone. It almost looked like a front diff leak.

So I cleaned the the underside as best as possible. I was able to see where the leak was coming from. Looks like its a faulty seal. Possibly pinion ring in the front diff and there seems to be a slight oil leak as well from the bottom of the case or loose bolt. The front diff leak looks pretty sever. I am not sure what the seal is supposed to look like but there seems to be a gap there. I did also hear a metal clunking sounds. Sounds to me like the axle is loose even?
