Now that I think about it...

My parents bought me my car about one year ago to this day. It was a MY08 535xi and we paid about $61k for it. But now that I see people getting MY10 E60s in May and June, I can't help but feel that we paid for an 09 car, the dealer just didn't tell us about it. It's just something I recently realized with everyone's new threads on their 2010 5ers and pictures.
Options are in my sig. Is it possible there were 09s, but they were trying to move the "outdated" "old" ones before?

Don't think so. Check out mine. It was coming in on the boat in July last year. According to BMWNA, the factory was "just" turning over to 09s when I was looking, so I couldn't order an 08, I had to choose from what was on the boat.

My Ride: 650 Grand Coupe
Model Year: 2016
I took delivery of mine 7/7/08. When I made the deal, it was still on the ship, two days out from the port here in NJ.
The '08's were still coming in at this point.

If I remember correctly, the 2009 models didn't start production until September 08. The 2009 model year was a short one.
Based on the options in your sig, it does seem like your parents paid a lot of the car.

I think your mom and dad should buy you a brand new one immediately --- if they refuse there are several lawyers on the forum who will take your case .

You weren?t ripped off on the model year but it sounds like you paid a few thousand more than necessary.
My dad isn't the best negotiator, so it's understandable. I didn't have the knowledge I eventually got from this forum, but... the SA had to make a living too, right?
But thanks for the input.
