Noise when unlocking Car

My Ride: 2004 545i 6 spd Sports Package | NAV | PDC | Logic 7 | BT retrofit | SW V13.3
A couple of times in the last two days I have heard a strange noise like fan hitting its casing, when I unlock the car. It comes from behind the right front headlight.
Has anyone else heard this? Do you know what is initiated on remote unlock that would be located in the front right of the engine compartment?

My dealer told me the sounds coming from under the car when I lock/unlock were the SMG.
Is that wrong, then?? I guess that I wouldn't be surprised... haha.
